At least thirteen dead, including seven children, in Philadelphia building fire

Trieze people perished in a large fire in Philadephia, USA. Among these victims, seven children died. A house, divided into several apartments, caught fire on Wednesday morning in this eastern American city, several American media reported on Wednesday.

The figure could still change

“For now, the toll is 13 (dead),” said a representative of the firefighters, specifying that this figure could still evolve. “It was terrible (…) it’s a terrible record,” he added, during an impromptu press briefing broadcast live on Twitter. Several children are among the victims.

Philadelphia firefighters arrived at the scene at 6:40 a.m. (12:40 p.m. KST) and had to deal with “an intense fire from the second floor of a house” which has three. “It took 50 minutes to bring the fire under control,” they said in a tweet.

Selon CNN, investigators have not yet discovered the origin of the fire.
