La Kenyan Diana Kipyokei, winner of the Boston Marathon in 2021, has been provisionally suspended after testing positive in an anti-doping control. The 28-year-old marathon runner could be stripped of this win, as she tested positive for metabolites of triamcinolone acetinide, a prohibited substance, in a control carried out on October 11, 2021, after the race.
Kipyokei won the Boston Marathon in October 2021 ahead of Edna Kiplagat, then 41 years old. She would now be the champion of the event, which would make her the oldest runner to win the Boston Marathon since its first edition in 1897.
In addition to Kipyokei, the long-distance runner Betty Wilson Lempus has also tested positive for this substance
