Atlanta Hawks interested in trade for Jae Crowder

Jae Crowder no longer wants to play for the Phoenix Suns, the franchise is already looking for a trade for the 32-year-old. According to Shams Charania (The Athletic) the Atlanta Hawks could be a possible trade partner.

According to Charania, the Hawks and Suns have already started talks about a possible crowder trade, but an agreement is not yet in sight. The forward had announced before the start of the training camp that he no longer wanted to play for Phoenix because it was explained to him that he would not start again in the upcoming season.

The 32-year-old will still collect $ 10.2 million this season, after which the contract expires. What a deal could ultimately look like is not yet known, but the Hawks are just under two million dollars under the luxury tax limit and are unlikely to want to exceed it.

But Atlanta isn’t the only team interested in Crowder. Zach Lowe (ESPN) recently reported on the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat, who are said to have also kept an eye on the forward. Joe Vardon (The Athletic) also brought the Cleveland Cavaliers into play, who urgently need a forward.

Suns coach Monty Williams recently expressed the wish that the Crowder situation should be clarified by the start of the season. According to Marc Stein (Substack) Phoenix Crowder does not want to trade at any price, but wants to get a player who can help the team in the upcoming season.

Crowder moved from Miami to Phoenix in 2020 and has since played 127 games for the Suns, averaging 9.7 points and 5 rebounds. He converted almost 37 percent of his attempts from a distance. Before joining Phoenix, Crowder also played for Dallas, Boston, Cleveland, Utah, Memphis and Miami.
