Atlético Bucaramanga needs a coach, but it does not mean that they are going to go out, as usual, to hire in a hurry.

That seems to be the decision of Atlético Bucaramanga, which suffered the departure of its technical director Alexis Márquez not because of a dismissal but because of his voluntary resignation.

There were already six dates without winning and, after the 2-0 defeat against Independiente Medellín, despite the insistence of the players, the coach left. Of course, those who remained in charge as interim, Rubén Zapata and Diego Vargas, were part of his coaching staff.

The change in orientation is expected to begin to bear results this Saturday (4:00 pm), hosting Santa Fe for the Betplay II 2023 League.

But in the midst of that uncertainty, one name appeared as the most possible coach owned by the team. This is the Argentine Rubén Tanucci, who left Cúcuta Deportivo surprisingly a few weeks ago and would be open to staying not only in the country but in the region.

Their balance was good: 4 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses, which is why their departure, after just 9 games, drew attention.

However, the Bucaramanga newspaper Vanguardia consulted the club’s president, Jaime Elías Quintero, who flatly denied this possibility.

“Without any news, the Tanucci thing is false, I have not spoken with him and it is not in the club’s plans,” he explained, while stating that the directors’ intention is to take some time. “The idea is that the interim ends and we are already looking at which coach to bring, there are already some approaches, but nothing defined,” Quintero stated.

In this way, the position remains vacant and, depending on the results, it could be that there is not even a change of coach.
