Atletico president: I will ask Vinicius to teach me samba

To attack racism, Atletico Madrid president encourages Vinicius to celebrate by dancing

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo called on Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior to teach him how to dance while celebrating his goals.

The past few days witnessed Vinicius being subjected to racist expressions by the president of the Spanish Football Agents Association, Pedro Bravo, as he described his celebration of the “monkeys” dance, before retracting his speech.

Atletico Madrid is preparing to face Real Madrid this evening in the sixth week of the Spanish League at Civitas Metropolitano.

Cerezo urged the media before his team’s match against Real Madrid in the Spanish capital’s derby, and the Spanish newspaper “Marca” highlighted his talk about the upcoming meeting.

“What we have to do is make sure that Vinicius does not score a goal against us today, and if it happens and he wants to celebrate it, let him celebrate it properly and with respect to all the fans who stand in front of him,” Roji Blancos president said about the controversy surrounding the Brazilian player’s celebration.

Cerezo does not seem to want to heat up the atmosphere and show his good spirits. “I’m going to ask Vinicius to teach me how to dance samba because I have to go to Brazil for the upcoming festivals in Rio,” he said.

He concluded: “The players express themselves as they want, the only thing that should be with respect for the people on the field.”
