A racing cyclist fell badly in Steinbach am Attersee on Monday afternoon. The 56-year-old German was traveling on the B152 around 1:10 p.m. when a car came towards him on his lane. According to the police, the 61-year-old driver wanted to overtake a car in front of him in a slight left curve. He probably overlooked the racing cyclist.
The athlete could no longer avoid it. He crashed into the car mirror, fell and lay injured on the bike path and sidewalk. After first aid from the paramedics, the German was taken by helicopter to the Salzburg State Hospital. The driver from the Vöcklabruck district was heading towards Weyregg.
