AUA collective agreement for on-board crews can come into force

The responsible union vida announced this on Thursday. This time, in contrast to the first vote in mid-April, the union and the Bord works council recommended approval. The new KV runs until the end of 2026 and provides for three salary increases by then. On average, salaries increase by a total of 19.4 percent.

According to vida, 82 percent of union members voted in favor of the KV. Participation was 84 percent. Around 60 percent of the AUA on-board staff are with the union. The deal guarantees significant increases in income above the inflation rate over the next three years. Daniel Liebhart, chairman of the aviation department in the vida union, was now conciliatory after the labor dispute at Easter. The discussions “always took place in a respectful environment, even in those phases in which we negotiated hard on the matter,” explained Liebhart.

More than 20 rounds of negotiations

Last week, after more than 20 rounds of negotiations, management and the union agreed on a new collective agreement for the approximately 1,000 pilots and 2,500 flight attendants. A strike and several company meetings in the spring led to hundreds of flight cancellations and caused millions in damage.

In addition to the salary increases, a so-called peace obligation was also agreed. This means that no operational disruptions in the form of strikes may occur during the term of the collective agreement until the end of 2026.
