Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Swiss and Austrian Airlines (AUA) will resume their scheduled flights to Israel from January 8th. As the AUA announced on Friday evening, the Austrian Lufthansa subsidiary will offer eight weekly connections to Tel Aviv Airport in a first phase. The flight schedule will be published on Monday (December 18th). The flights were suspended on October 9, two days following the Hamas terrorist attack once morest Israel.

There are also seven Lufthansa flights (four from Frankfurt, three from Munich) and five Swiss flights, according to a statement from the industry giant. The total of 20 weekly flights would correspond to around 30 percent of the regular flight schedule, using Airbus A320s. The flights to Lebanon, which were also suspended, were resumed this Friday by Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings.

Safety is “always the top priority” for the Lufthansa Group airlines, the statement continued. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are in close contact with the local and international authorities. Possible flight plan adjustments must be expected as conditions change.
