Austere summer: only 37% of Argentines plan to take vacations

The summer season started with low occupancy figures in the main national destinations, and in that context, a private survey revealed that the 46% of the middle class “He is thinking about not going on vacation this summer.”

The research, carried out by D’Alessio IROL/Bernsteindetailed that 60% of the lower segment of the population does not plan to travel either, unlike the 37% of respondents who indicated that will take vacation during the 2024 season. The percentage of undecided people who still do not know what they will do is 17%.

Domestic tourism or trips abroad?

Among the 37% of Argentine tourists who claimed to take vacations, 25% will do so within the country, and only 10% acknowledged that they will travel abroad. Only 2% assured that they will enjoy their vacations in a mixed way, that is, inside and outside Argentina.

The reason? Many Argentines are affected by the economic situation that the country is going through, and others cannot face the various expenses associated with vacationssuch as transportation, tickets, accommodation, fuel, among others.

Domestic trips:

  • Atlantic Coast: Destination chosen by 35% of those surveyed.
  • – South Patagonia: Destination chosen by 33% of those surveyed. Includes Bariloche, San Martín de los Andes and El Calafate.
  • – The mountains of Córdoba and San Luis: Destination chosen by the 28% of those surveyed.
  • – Cuyo Region (Mendoza and San Juan): Destination chosen by 10% of those surveyed.

International travel:

  • Europe: Destination chosen by 31% of those surveyed.
  • – Brazil: Destination chosen by 21% of those surveyed.
