The second edition of the second-hand car show in Morocco “Auto Occasion” will be held from May 23 to 28 in Casablanca, at the initiative of the Moroccan automotive monthly “Autonews”.

On a space of 6,000 m2, this show will bring together, in addition to professionals who are well established in the sale of used cars, the stands of several players in the sector, in particular financing companies, participatory banks, or the company insurance company AtlantaSanad, Official sponsor of this event, indicates Autonews in a press release.

This event, whose inauguration will be marked by the presence of several public and private personalities, will bring together the entire automotive ecosystem, the same source said. and to add: “Unprecedented fact, buyers will even be entitled to a vehicle registration office, specially dedicated to the transfer of vehicle ownership”.

“Auto Occasion”, which displays the desire to support and promote the sector in order to contribute to the development of the inclusive economy and the democratization of the car, is also a space for exchange which will house round tables to discuss prospects for the development of the second-hand market in Morocco.

A market in constant evolution, with growing demand from consumers, as evidenced by the number of changes made over the period 2014-2022.

With regard to the quality of the exhibitors and the diversity of the models which will be presented there, “Auto Occasion” will therefore undoubtedly contribute to maintaining this positive dynamic which characterizes the second-hand market.

According to “Autonews”, transfers, which include motorcycles, passenger cars (VP) and commercial vehicles (VU), have indeed increased from 441,180 to 677,222 over the period, an increase of 53.5%.

Over the last 5 years (2017-2022), the number of mutations has increased from 361,626 to 471,571 for VPs, an increase of 30%. As for those relating to UVs, they fell from 167,248 to 153,248, a slight decline of 8%.

With regard specifically to imports of used vehicles, they amounted to 11,486 units in 2022, an increase of 46% compared to 2021. This upward trend continued during this first quarter of 2023, with an increase by 166% compared to the first quarter of 2022, for 2,929 imported vehicles.
