AVA RE:BIRTH Update: New Solo Mode, Gun Balance, and Events

PC online FPS AVA RE:BIRTH received its first update on November 5, boosting weapon damage by 30% and introducing solo play for its Hunting Field mode. The update, which came after the game’s official launch on October 28, also introduced a 2x experience and event currency bonus during daily “hot time” hours and overhauled the in-game gacha system.

The Hunting Field mode now supports solo entry, removing the previous requirement for multiple players. The update also modified how the game handles disconnections, ensuring players do not lose their items if they are disconnected before performing any in-game actions like moving or shooting.

Why 30% Damage Signals a Major Gameplay Shift

The most significant combat change is a 30% increase in attack power for all weapons in the RM (Rifleman) and PM (Pointman) categories. This includes all rifles and submachine guns sold in the shop, with the exception of shotguns and the three default starter weapons. The developer stated this adjustment is a step toward normalizing combat balance, with further tweaks planned.

The three default weapons received individualized adjustments. The Vespa Default saw its damage rise from 15 to 20, the X4A1 Default jumped from 16 to 24, and the EPKO Default was lowered from 220 to 140. The developers warned that future balance changes could affect weapon performance across all acquisition methods, meaning even newly obtained guns might see their stats altered in future updates.

Solo Play and Rewards Redesign in the Hunting Field

Players now earn experience and in-game currency (“Euros”) based on their survival time, with successful extraction providing a bonus compared to failure.

Alongside the player experience changes, the update fine-tuned the AI behavior patterns within the Hunting Field and addressed bugs related to quest completion status and play history display.

Competitive Modes Require Fewer Scores to Win

All traditional competitive modes have received a reduction in their required score to win. Bomb and Escape missions now require a team to win 5 rounds instead of 7, while Annihilation matches have been shortened from 120 points to 80.

The patch also fixed critical bugs that were unintentionally slowing down movement speed for Pointman and Sniper classes. The weight system, which previously affected movement speed in missions other than the Hunting Field, was corrected.

Expanded Economy and Limited-Time Weapon Sales

The in-game currency system has been significantly expanded. New limited-time main weapons are available for purchase directly with Euros, offering one option for each of the three main classes: Starfall (PM), EL85 (RM), and RF-11 Vermin (SR). These C-rank weapons are priced at 35,000 Euros each and have no purchase limit, available from November 5 until the maintenance on November 25.

The gacha system has been restructured. The cost for a single pull has been reduced from 50,000 to 20,000 Euros. A bundle of 11 pulls is available for 200,000 Euros, where 11 pulls can be obtained for the price of 10. For instance, B-rank weapons have a 0.1300% chance of dropping, while C-rank weapons have a 29.8701% chance.

What This Means for Player Progression

The introduction of warehouse expansion tickets, which can be purchased with Euros and are tied to player rank, offers a clear path for players to increase their storage capacity as they progress. The launch celebration events, including increased drop rates in the Hunting Field and eased quest conditions, have also been enhanced to provide a smoother onboarding experience for new players.

The goal of this first update is to establish a stable and enjoyable foundation. We are watching player data closely to ensure our balance adjustments lead to a more competitive and fun environment for everyone, said a spokesperson for VALOFE Co., Ltd., the game’s developer, in a statement provided to AppBank.

A daily “hot time” event is also active, running from 20:00 to 24:00 (UTC 11:00-15:00) until November 18. During this window, players earn double the experience and Euros from all mission types.

Interface and Usability Improvements Enhance Gameplay Experience

Beyond gameplay, the patch introduced quality-of-life improvements. The shop interface now features clearer indicators for item purchase links and sale end dates. The inventory system has received upgrades to its display and usability. A new language setting option has been added to the game’s configuration menu, and adjustments were made to background music volume settings and the post-game screen display.

The developers have not announced a date for the next major content update.
