Avel & Men and Le Minor are pleased to announce a collaboration: the century-old factory, a living heritage company, which offers collections of marinières and sailor sweaters, offers Avel & Men dormant stocks of fabrics. The young brand from Finistère, specialist in watch accessories and watch straps, will use them to make the pouches that accompany its creations.
Avel & Men, founded in 2016 in Finistère, specializes in watch accessories and watch straps made in France. In particular, it offers a range of watch straps in Seaqual canvas, a fiber made from plastic waste collected from the depths of the oceans.
The Le Minor hosiery celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022, it offers several collections of sailor and sailor sweaters made in Brittany, with a complete value chain. From the reception of the cotton yarn to the manufacture of a marinière, several trades come together to produce a 100% Breton product: even the fabric is made on site. Trades and skills so rare that the manufacture has launched its own in-house apprenticeship training program to pass on the rare know-how of remeshing and knitting cotton jersey, for example.
It was by finding themselves neighbors in a fashion magazine page that the two companies got closer: after a first meeting in Guidel and visiting the workshops, Agnès asked them what the stocks of fabrics stored at the bottom of the company correspond to. .
