Ayuso, on the investigation of her partner: “As long as it is legal, I am free to get in that car or get into that bed” | Madrid News

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, presented herself this Wednesday as a victim of a political destabilization operation designed by the PSOE to cover up the scandal of the Koldo case and the processing of the amnesty law. After learning that the Prosecutor’s Office accuses his partner, Alberto González Amador, of two crimes of tax fraud and one of document falsification, the conservative politician has defended that the commission agent is the victim of a “wild and crazy tax inspection”; He has assured that the consultant is being “sieged” by “all the powers of the State” just for being his boyfriend and has denied that he used false invoices or shell companies to avoid paying taxes of 351,000 euros between 2020 and 2021, as the investigators claim. Thus, just hours after the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, asked for his resignation, Díaz Ayuso has applied the maxim that there is no better defense than a good attack. And he has gone so far as to affirm that it is the Treasury that owes 600,000 euros to his partner (a figure that would correspond to the fine, already paid, for the events investigated, which would cover 2018-2022).

“If, after a lifetime of working, this person has assets and can afford to buy a house, a car or seven, as long as it is legal, as long as everything is in a, as long as it is before a notary, I am free to get in that car. or getting into that bed,” Díaz Ayuso said about the luxury apartment and the high-end car that González bought while his company, Maxwell Cremona, multiplied its sales by six thanks to his work as a commission agent in the sale of masks. gloves or protective glasses during the worst of the pandemic. “My responsibility would be if the money of the Community, that of the taxpayers, or my position, had been used to achieve some of that, which is what is happening in Moncloa,” he continued. “They seek to destabilize me through my personal destruction,” he said. “Pedro Sánchez is sitting in political and economic corruption and this is not going to cover it up.”

Everything has happened in Leganés, where Díaz Ayuso has traveled to preside over an extraordinary Government Council. By the time the regional president arrives at the town’s City Hall, her advisors’ phones have been ringing non-stop for hours. First, because it has been known that her partner invoiced more than a million to a company that became rich from masks from China. And second, because the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has taken advantage of the control session in Congress to demand that the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, demand the resignation of the Baroness due to the controversy.

“Even if it costs him his job like Casado,” Sánchez adds.

But Sánchez is not the only one who remembers the former president of the PP. Just as in 2022, when Casado questioned that a company that had contracted with the Community had paid a commission of 234,000 euros to the brother of the president of Madrid, Díaz Ayuso stars this Wednesday in a harsh intervention to try to defend the innocence and honor of His couple.

“Here there is no political case, there is a murky case of all the powers of the State against an anonymous citizen, an individual who is owed almost 600,000 euros,” Ayuso accused. “The most suspicious thing, the most murky thing, is to see all the powers of the State leaking data about an individual through all the newsrooms to try to destroy a politician. And for one thing: for having a romantic relationship,” he added.

What are those 600,000 euros due to? A collaborator of the president explains that González Amador paid that amount in 2022 as a fine for the events that the Prosecutor’s Office has now reported at the request of the Treasury, which detected some alleged false invoices. These were issued by Maxwell Cremona, the company owned by Díaz Ayuso’s partner, “with the sole purpose of reducing taxation, improperly deducting expenses under invoices that do not correspond to services actually provided.” When the amount allegedly defrauded exceeds 120,000 euros, criminal proceedings are opened, in addition to administrative proceedings.

“He overpaid when he paid the fine in July 2022,” explains this interlocutor, without giving more details. “It is not true that the Treasury asks him for that: he has already paid it,” he adds, in reference to the 351,000 euros at which the complaint estimates the alleged fraud. A crime that the investigated person and the regional president deny.

“If I am guilty of anything, it is having a relationship with an anonymous citizen,” Díaz Ayuso said during his appearance. “There is not a single contract with the Community of Madrid,” he stressed. And he ironically said: “The next time I go out with someone, I will ask for their resume, tax certificate and vaccination certificate.”

These explanations do not convince the opposition. For this reason, the spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Madrid Assembly, Manuela Bergerot, has registered an investigation commission in the Madrid Chamber to discuss the company contracts of the president’s boyfriend, while the PSOE will request all the documents that relate to the Community with the Quirón group, “the main client of the Ayuso couple.”

Specifically, the new commission that has registered the formation of Bergerot focuses on the “brother and groom commissions”, as explained by the spokesperson in statements in the Assembly. The absolute majority of the PP will certainly prevent the investigation from beginning.

“We are not going to participate in the attempt to convert the Madrid Assembly into a Chamber that makes political judgments against private people in their relationship with the Tax Agency,” said the PP spokesperson, Carlos Díaz-Pache. “The only thing missing is for the Madrid Assembly to dedicate itself to investigating individuals.”
