Cilegon City Mayor Helldy Agustian inaugurated the asphalting activity using plastic asphalt at the Bagendung Final Waste Disposal Site (TPSA), Cilegon District, Friday (3/4). This innovation program for plastic management is a form of collaboration between PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk and the Cilegon City Government (Pemkot).
“We are very proud and would like to thank PT Chandra Asri who has helped Cilegon City a lot, especially by providing and paving using plastic asphalt which is a good innovation from PT Chandra Asri,” said Cilegon Mayor Helldy Agustian as released by the Cilegon City Diskominfo, Friday ( 3/5).
According to Helldy, asphalting activities using plastic asphalt could be a model. “The use of plastic asphalt can be an example of optimizing waste management in Cilegon City. “Where, we (Cilegon City Government-ed) also have a waste management factory which is the first and largest co-firing in Indonesia,” he said.
On that basis, added Helldy, the plastic asphalt event is important for Cilegon City, especially ahead of the implementation of the Regency/City Alliance for Sanitation Care (Akkopsi) activities which are being carried out in Cilegon City. “Soon, Cilegon City will have guests from Akkopsi. Where, around 200 more cities and regencies in Indonesia will come to Cilegon City. “One of the places we will visit is TPSA Bagendung, so this is important for us,” he added.
In this case, Helldy hopes that the collaboration between the Cilegon City Government and PT Candra Asri can continue. “We hope that collaboration like this will not stop here, but will continue in the use of plastic asphalt in Cilegon City,” he hoped.
The Head of the Cilegon City Environmental Service (DLH), Sabri Mahyudin, said the same thing, who wanted the use of plastic asphalt to be an example of innovation in Cilegon City. “The innovation carried out by PT Candra Asri through asphalt mixed with plastic can be a good example for use in Cilegon City, even if it can also be used outside Cilegon City,” said Sabri while explaining that asphalting on this occasion was carried out along 146 meters of the road inside Bagendung TPSA area.
Meanwhile, the Director of Legal and External Affairs of PT Candra Asri Pacific Tbk, Eddy Rivai, explained that the use of plastic asphalt is nothing new for PT Chandra Asri. “This year alone, TPSA Bagendung is the second point we have asphalted. Previously, some of the South Ring Road (JLS) also used our plastic asphalt. “You can also see that the quality of the asphalt that we have implemented at JLS is still in good condition to this day,” he explained.
Eddy also hopes that the use of plastic asphalt can become an example and be used more massively. “We hope that this asphalting can help and provide benefits in Cilegon City and also become a good example for Cilegon City, and in the future it can be used more widely in Cilegon City, because PT Candra Asri is also part of Cilegon City,” he hoped.
