“I will tell you that we are seriously looking at reducing the offer for travel. Maybe for a while, we will have to abandon some flights and cancel destinations during the summer, ”explains Mr. Rainville.

The customer experience, which has been greatly affected since the resumption of travel, is forcing leaders to look into the question.

“This is not a situation that is unique to Montreal, our entire airport system and that includes government agencies and airlines, everyone is involved in this problem of rapid return following a shortage,” says the CEO.

While at TVA Nouvelles, Mr. Rainville explained that despite this very complex problem, his team had to do a better job of improving the traveler experience.

“It’s not easy, we have planes arriving from Europe that don’t have suitcases,” he explains. “The luggage arrives the next day and we have to make sure that the suitcases of those who were connecting receive their equipment within a reasonable time, but we have our faults also in this context of labor shortages.”
