The court accepted a request for a temporary injunction to ban the screening of the documentary film ‘First Argument’, which deals with the death of former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon.

The Seoul Southern District Court made this decision, saying, “It is difficult to view the film’s main expressions as truth, and the content seriously damages the reputation of victims of sexual harassment.”

In addition, it was judged that “the value of the act of expression through the film cannot be considered to be protected more than the reputation of the victim.”

Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the victim’s legal representative, Kim Jae-ryeon, claimed that the film was a secondary harm to the victims, and filed an injunction to ban the screening on the 1st of last month against the documentary production committee ‘People Who Believe in Park Won-soon’ and director Kim Dae-hyeon.
