Banque CIC’s Board of Directors expands

Two new directors were elected. Following the departure of one of the administrators because of his age, the bank therefore extends its supervisory body to eight people.

At the General Meeting of Banque CIC (Suisse) SA held on June 21, 2022, two new directors were elected to the Board of Directors of Banque CIC. Following the departure of one of the administrators because of his age, the bank therefore extends its supervisory body to eight people.

Sabine Schimel, engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique and economist statistician, began her career at the French Ministry of Finance before occupying executive positions in various banks and insurance companies. In 2018, she took up the position of Deputy Managing Director of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe, before joining Crédit Mutuel Equity in 2022, where she held the position of Managing Director of Crédit Mutuel Capital, in charge in particular of international affairs. She also sits on the boards of directors of Beobank in Belgium and of Groupe La Française. Sabine Schimel takes over from François Malnati in the Audit & Risk Committee. This committee monitors and assesses the integrity of financial closings, the internal control system and the bank’s risk policy to report to the Board of Directors.

With the election of David Hérault, a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Tours and holder of a DESS in Management of Banking and Financial Organizations, Banque CIC is expanding its Board of Directors. After eleven years at the General Inspectorate of the National Confederation, he held development positions in the Group’s furniture leasing subsidiary and, since 2012, he has headed the Corporate Development department of the Banque Fédérative du Crédit Mutuel; he has been a member of the PaySurf Board of Directors since 2017. David Hérault has a long experience in the fields of business valuation and mergers / acquisitions and comes to strengthen the Board of Directors in his areas of specialty as well as in management, innovation and corporate governance.

“With Sabine Schimel and David Hérault, the Board of Directors has been enriched by two seasoned specialists in finance and management”, declared Thomas Müller, CEO of Banque CIC. “Both have an excellent profile and extensive experience that will enable us to successfully pursue the development of our bank. I am delighted that we have thus been able to complete the Board of Directors, under the leadership of Éric Charpentier and his vice-president Roland Burger, surrounded by the existing directors Pierre Ahlborn, Jean-Albert Chaffard, Christian Fischer and Christoph Goppelsroeder.”

After serving on the Board of Directors of Banque CIC (Suisse) SA for 18 years and reaching the age limit, François Malnati is retiring from his duties. For nearly two decades, he greatly contributed to decisively advancing the bank’s strategy focused on Swiss entrepreneurs and companies and their personalized support, a strategy that has ensured the bank’s development. The Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Banque CIC (Suisse) SA would like to thank François Malnati for his fruitful commitment over these long years. They also welcome Sabine Schimel and David Hérault and send them their best wishes for success and fulfillment within the Board of Directors.
