FC Barcelona canceled this Saturday’s friendly match against Juventus, the first of its pre-season tour in the United States, due to viral gastroenteritis that affects a good part of its players.
The clash was to be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara (California), a 68,500-seat court home to the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, and was chosen to inaugurate the so-called Soccer Champions Tour, an exhibition tour with six great squads European.
“This morning we woke up with the misfortune that a large part of the players on our squad had symptoms of a large intestinal viral gastroenteritis that causes vomiting and decomposition,” explained the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, in a video broadcast by the club.
