On Tuesday, press reports indicated Barcelona’s interest in the inclusion of Valencia player Carlos Soler, adding that among the topics discussed by Barcelona President Joan Laporta in his recent meeting with Valencia club representatives Anil Murthy and Joey Lim.
According to the “Spanish News Agency”, the largest shareholder in the club, Peter Lim, is on good terms with Laporta, and that this type of meeting is common, and previous meetings were held without completing deals.
And “EFE” explained that the Barcelona president had expressed his interest in the 25-year-old Soler, stressing that the impression is that the Catalan club cannot now conclude a deal like that, because Valencia is working to renew Soler’s contract, and this reduces the possibility of completing the deal.
In addition, sources indicated to the agency that Barcelona put on the table the names of 3 players who could join the ranks of the “bats”, whether within the Soler deal or independently, they are: Danish Martin Braithwaite, Ricky Puig and Sergino Dest.
The sources confirmed that the name of Jose Luis Gaia was not on the table at the meeting, although Valencia is aware of Barcelona’s interest and love for the player.
