Before the Central Meeting… Amer: We will not hesitate to take all measures for you

Tarek Amer, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, said that the Central Bank will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to curb inflation in the future.

In his speech today during the 2022 Arab Banking Conference, Amer explained that the Central Bank took measures during the months of March and April with the aim of achieving stability in foreign exchange.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Marquess Bank is scheduled to hold a regular meeting tomorrow, Thursday, to discuss the fate of interest rates, after the US Federal Reserve announced 0.5% this month.

The Central Bank had raised the interest rate by 1% in an extraordinary meeting last March, and the National Bank and Egypt had issued a savings certificate with a return of 18% to face inflationary pressures.

Today, the Arab Banking Conference for 2022 was held under the auspices of Tariq Amer, Governor of the Central Bank, Gamal Najm, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, President of the Union of Arab Banks, Hisham Okasha, President of the National Bank, and Yahya Abu Al-Fotouh, Vice President of the National Bank, Mohamed El-Etreby, Vice President of the Union of Arab Banks and President of Banque Misr, and Mahmoud Mohieldin, CEO of the International Monetary Fund in America, a number of bank heads and heads of various sectors.
