At the end of the year, the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA show that they can still win. They beat the Cavaliers in Cleveland with 121: 118.
Despite twelve absences and corona turmoil, Atlanta celebrated another victory after three defeats de suite. Two players in the Hawks took the main responsibility: Trae Young (23) got 35 points and 11 assists. And Clint Capela from Geneva shone with 18 points, four blocks and 23 (!) Rebounds. Performances that could be expected in the Hawks’ camp.
Still won despite a big deficit
“Already on Thursday in training (when the uncomfortable Covid situation was looming) Young and Capela set the tone,” boasted Nate McMillan (57), the Hawks’ head coach. “They did it again in Cleveland.”
Never before this season has Capela triumphed as big as on New Year’s Eve in Cleveland. Atlants – still eight points behind Clevland after this round in the table – were still 16 points behind in the game (44:60).
LeBron James with season best
NBA superstar LeBron James (37) led the Los Angeles Lakers to a clear victory at the end of the year.
At 139: 106 the Lakers against the Portland Trail Blazers, James excelled with his personal best of the season of 43 points and was by far the most successful thrower on the floor. He also got 14 rebounds. With 18 wins from 37 games, Los Angeles is eighth in the Western Conference. (SDA / SID / che)
