In tonight’s episode of her program “90 Minutes”, which is shown on “An-Nahar” channel, the media, Basma Wahba, discussed the controversial statements made by the Lebanese Joelle Mardinian and her talk about clothes and the evaluation of some, saying, “God created us without clothes.”
Basma attacked Joel’s statements, saying, “Social media has become more dangerous than Satan, and it has become an obsession that afflicts people, and I am with you, but I have limits. I may have an obsession that keeps a trend, but there is no abnormal need. There is no need for shamelessness. There is no need for a scandal.”
And she cited a number of situations, saying, “Like, for example, two famous people announce their separation while they are still married, like, for example, artists announcing their retirement from art in order to see a trend and then come back again.”
And about Joel Mardinian’s statements, she said, “Do not interfere with our Lord in nudity and say that our Lord created us naked by making a trend. You do not have an invitation to our Lord, and this remains the obsession with the trend, and you will settle all the problems, and you speak that our Lord will not hold us accountable for dressing because we were created naked.”
The Lebanese Joelle Mardinian raised a lot of controversy during the past few hours after she hosted the “Book of Fame” program, which is shown on Al-Jadeed channel, by talking about some people’s evaluation of clothes.
And she said, “I may be dressed from above to below and cover myself completely, but my intentions, actions, and my view of others are not sweet, and I do not believe that God does not stand with us if we wear a certain garment, and I know that there are many people who will criticize me, and clothes are not a measure of faith.”
