According to the Italian media, Leverkusen’s storm reservist Joel Pohjanpalo (27) is about to make a lightning move to FC Venice in Serie B and is due to complete his medical check this week.
Venezia has been relegated and is looking for a new attacker. The 28-year-old Finn still has a contract with Bayer until 2023, but is only the number three striker.
Pohjanpalo has at least a three-year contract with the Italian club.
Most recently, the attacker was loaned out for three years in a row, only played for HSV for six months in 2020 before Union Berlin strengthened him in the same year.
Before last season, Pohjanpalo went on loan to Turkish first division club Caykur Rizespor and delivered. In 32 games in the Süper Lig he scored 16 goals.
His new employer from Venice is also hoping for similar hit rates.
