Bayern CFO Dreesen will stop in the summer – the successor has already been determined

Chief Financial Officer Jan-Christian Dreesen (55) will leave record-breaking champions Bayern Munich after his contract expires at the end of this season. As the Munich company announced on Thursday, Dreesen will not extend his contract, which expires in the summer. Michael Diederich (57) will be the new Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO from July 1, 2023.

“On behalf of the entire FC Bayern, I would like to thank Jan-Christian Dreesen very much for his outstanding commitment and his great achievements for FC Bayern,” said club president Herbert Hainer and added with regard to his successor: “We are convinced that Michael Diederich will make an important contribution to a successful future for FC Bayern Munich.”

Diederich is currently Spokesman of the Management Board of Unicredit Bank AG, for which he has held various management positions since 1996. He has also been a member of the supervisory board of FC Bayern München AG since 2018. In order to ensure a “smooth transition”, Diederich will be appointed to the board as a regular member on April 1, 2023, the club announced.

Dreesen has been a member of the board of record champions since February 2013. “After long and careful consideration, I have now decided to redefine my personal goals after this extraordinary decade,” he said: “I had a fantastic ten years at FC Bayern.”
