The 27-year-old was never able to get the Breisgau defense under control and put the record champions on the road to victory with a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute after an assist from Harry Kane.
Shortly before the break, a narrow offside position prevented Sané from scoring a brace when he slammed the ball into the left corner of the goal. “He scored an incredibly beautiful goal today, but unfortunately it was offside,” said Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel angrily. “But that’s what we expect from him, of course he has the talent for it.”
It’s no wonder that Tuchel bristled when asked further about his protégé, who already has six goals this season. “He played very clearly today, with very few ball losses, even though he took risks. He can be so dominant in the league if he has the enthusiasm and a clear head. He has the physical requirements, he is a machine.”
It is obvious that the national player, who will be traveling to the USA with the DFB entourage on Monday, should also make the difference in Munich in the long term. Sané’s contract runs until June 2025, but the record champions want to extend it as soon as possible.

According to SPORT1 information, Sané is in no hurry to decide on a possible extension at this early stage. He wants to focus fully on sport, stay in top shape and continue to have fun with football. A decision about his future is unlikely to be made until the next calendar year. His contract expires on June 30, 2025.
“We ask a lot of him – he knows that too,” said Tuchel. “If he plays with freedom and desire, then he can make the difference. But if he starts to quarrel and so on, then it’s not for him.”
