BB.lv: Hollywood writers go on strike

Film and television writers (of which there are about 11,500 people in the guild) will suspend their work until they agree on an increase in salaries from the Alliance of Film and Television Producers (AMPTP). It includes the largest studios and streaming services, including Disney, Warner Bros. and Netflix. The management of evening talk shows, including programs by Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel, have already announced the termination of their work.

In the demands of the strike participants, the regulation of artificial intelligence is a special point – the scriptwriters are asking the studios to prohibit the algorithm from composing or rewriting literary material. The last time the authors protested was in 2007 and 2008, when the strike lasted 100 days and cost the California authorities $2 billion in losses.
