There will be 74 matches each in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. This will increase to 84 matches in the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The 2027 season will increase by 10 games to 94 matches. However, the BCCI is also planning to suspend 84 matches. In 94 matches, the teams will face each other twice in home / away mode. Then four play-offs. The IPL was like this till the 2021 season. With the addition of two new teams this year, the number of matches has been reduced.
