After two wins for Milwaukee in the first two games, the Cavaliers finally got their revenge on the Bucks, despite a 45-point Giannis Antetokounmpo. The 2021 champions, however, never let go of the meeting, and the Ohio troops were also proud to have managed to keep control of the match (114-106) until the end.
“I think earlier in the season we probably would have lost this game,” said Darius Garland. “I think we had a lot of composure. We knew we had to win one in this series, and we put that pressure on ourselves. The last time we played against them, it was a bit like playing our big brother. We must continue to strike, to fight as best we can against this team. They’ve been there before and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo was full of praise for these young Cavaliers, ambitious and hungry, like the Bucks were a few seasons ago.
“They are very, very dangerous… They have very good players and a very good system. They defend really well. If they stay healthy, it will be a really good team. I don’t see why they wouldn’t qualify for the playoffs to have a good run there. Hoping it won’t be against us,” said the Greek.
