Violent Attack on Hospitality Establishment in Visé: Cars Vandalized, Fires Set, and Injuries Reported – Latest Updates

Several dozen people attacked a hospitality establishment located in Visé, in the Cheratte section (province of Liège), Monday evening. Some cars were also vandalized, said the Basse-Meuse police zone.

Around midnight, several messages actually reached us via the orange Alert us button, telling us about a “attack”of “Destroyed cars, fire and Molotov cocktail”. Another mentions a “clash between two rival gangs”.

Firefighters were called around 10:30 p.m. for several cars on fire in rue de Visé in Cheratte. The situation was such that they were unable to intervene directly.

The number of attackers is currently unknown, but there are several dozen hooded people, armed with baseball bats and molotov cocktails, according to the Basse-Meuse police chief, Christian Dejace.

The targeted establishment, a café affiliated with the Turkish community, was secured, as well as the surrounding area. Six minor victims were counted, three of whom were nevertheless transported to hospital.
