Beyond its remarkable storytelling, Baldur’s Gate 3 has many other qualities that every player has already been able to realize. One of them, which is also one of its weaknesses in the eyes of some, is found in its fights which sometimes, if not often, offer more or less difficult challenges depending on the level of chosen difficulty, but also the small personal penalties that fans sometimes inflict on themselves. However, a player and streamer recently demonstrated remarkable ingenuity by defeating one of the game’s bosses alone, without a companion, at the maximum difficulty level thanks to a careful strategy.

Luality, alone against Grym, the adamantium golem in Tactician Mode
If you follow the news dedicated to Baldur’s Gate 3 at all, you have undoubtedly already heard of Luality. This young Brazilian streamer has experienced the explosion of her Twitch channel since the launch of the Larian Studios game last August as she manages to be both fun and interesting in her way of approaching the game. She also broadcasts exclusively in English even if it is not his native language, which obviously greatly facilitates the chances of international success!
If we’re talking to you about Luality today, it’s quite simply because she managed to defeat one of the bosses known to be the toughest at the highest difficulty level: Grym, the adamantium golem who guards the adamantium forge at the end of Act 1. This immense colossus will have made many players sweat for a fairly simple reason: the basic strategy to overcome it consists of crushing it under the hammer of the forge once the metal of its body has been melted by the surrounding lava, therefore forcing adventurers to attract it under it before activating it.
Some people would argue that the boss is basically not that difficult, and they would be right! But Luality has taken on a challenge that is much more difficult than anything that most players have ever considered: to complete the game alone, without being accompanied by any companion, and in the highest difficulty mode. : Tactician. Needless to say, it’s a completely different story than what most of us are used to!
This is not the first time that this Brazilian has taken on absolutely crazy challenges like this. A few months earlier, for example, she had defeated some of the most difficult bosses in Elden Ring by only controlling her character with a dance mat… with her feet!

As a testimony to this feat on Baldur’s Gate 3, Luality made a clip of his victory against the boss in order to reveal his strategy, which is ingenious to say the least. As she seemed about to be annihilated by the massive golem, she placed her character under the forge’s hammer, forcing Grym to do the same to attack her. When it was her turn, she threw a healing potion at her feet before activating the lever of the hammer using a Fire Bolt.
The result was as expected: the hammer crashed into the forge, destroying the adamantium golem and the player for good. But instead of seeing the game loading screen appear, his character miraculously came back to life thanks to a mechanism that is as well known as it is little used at this level of the game: when a character falls to 0 life points, he falls unconscious and must be treated or helped to come back to life, but he is not dead yet! Thus, thanks to the potion placed at her feet, Luality ensured that if she passed out her character would automatically drink it and come back to life after the hammer fell. Genius !
This clip, which could have gone unnoticed, had such a resonance among the fan community that the Director of Baldur’s Gate 3 himself watched it and expressed his admiration on Twitter (or game : “Very impressive“.
