Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi writer, Turki Al-Hamad, criticized America’s shift from “pragmatism” to what he described as “stiff ideologism”, in the context of his comment on the Joe Biden administration’s dealings with Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hamad said in tweets on his official page on Twitter: “When a “conspiracy mentality” prevails in the speeches of a certain politician, and events are interpreted according to this mentality, know that the author of this speech is “in crisis” and is immersed in his own problems for which he does not find a solution, but he does not want to admit In this way, in order to preserve his psychological balance in particular, he blames the “other”, which, even if it does not exist, must be invented,” he says.
And the Saudi writer continued, saying: “This is the situation of Biden and his administration in his statements against Russia and Saudi Arabia. America was a pioneer of “pragmatism” in the world, but today it is slipping towards a rigid ideology, perhaps one of its reasons is the large number of new Americans in this administration, who imposed their ideological agenda, and their historical hold on traditional American pragmatism.”
Al-Hamd concluded by saying: “I say perhaps with my inclination to assertiveness,” as he put it.
Relations between America and Saudi Arabia are not experiencing their best times after the decision of “OPEC Plus” to reduce oil production by two million barrels per day, in a move that America considered Saudi Arabia’s support for Russia, and said it was studying response options.
