The 2026-2027 National 3-on-3 Youth Ice Hockey Open (Beijing Division) officially opened on October 31, 2026, at the National Indoor Stadium Ice Hockey Rink. Organized by the Chinese Ice Hockey Association and hosted by the Beijing Ice Hockey Association, the tournament features 26 teams and nearly 300 athletes across five distinct age and gender brackets.
Division Structure and Tournament Timeline
Competition for the Beijing regional qualifiers spans multiple categories to capture a broad developmental spectrum. The tournament features the U18 Men’s group, U14 Men’s group, U12 Men’s group, U14 Women’s group, and U12 Women’s group. Play began early on October 24, with the formal opening ceremony launching the primary tournament window that runs through November 29. Winning squads from the Beijing bracket secure advancement to the upcoming national finals.
The International Ice Hockey Federation continues to champion the 3-on-3 format as a primary developmental vehicle. By utilizing a reduced playing surface, the game forces high-frequency transitions and constant physical duels. Strict substitution rules prevent heavy reliance on single-line deployments, ensuring broader roster participation.
