This Monday, Florent Houzot – director of antennas, programs and editorial BeIN Sports – announced the opening of a partnership between BeIN Sports and FIBA. The goal? Broadcast the matches of the French teams until 2023. We strongly validate.
It’s a small revolution for French basketball. Following a partnership between BeIN Sports and FIBA, the matches of the French men’s and women’s teams will now be broadcast on BeIN Sports channels. FIBA competitions will also be broadcast there. An example ? On the night of Friday to Saturday at 2:05 a.m., several hours after Montenegro – France, Team USA will face Puerto Rico on BeIN Sports 1 in a qualifying match for the 2023 World Cup. Those who have already tried it know, it was up now very complicated to follow this kind of very dark match, played in a gymnasium in the suburbs of San Juan between four machetes and with an iguana which pounces on the board. As a side note, EuroBasket 2022, from September 1 to 18, is unfortunately not part of the contract between BeIN Sports and FIBA. This is why it is useful to make a small point on the deadlines of the deal. Are concerned :
- The qualifying matches for the 2023 Men’s World Cup, with all the matches of the France team and Team USA.
- The 2022 Women’s World Cup, from September 22 to October 1, with the live broadcast of the 38 matches of the competition.
- Women’s EuroBasket 2023, from June 15 to 25, 2023.
- The 2023 Men’s World Cup, from August 25 to September 10, 2023, in its entirety.
