Belfort. Go Sport moves to Galeries Lafayette

On the commercial ZAC of Andelnans, Go Sport is living its last weeks. Since May 11, the sporting goods brand has been in total liquidation, with interesting promotions. And it is not certain that the operation will last until June 18, as some shelves are emptying quickly. It was launched before the business moved. Where ? The staff is content to evoke an arrival in the center of Belfort. Without further details. We are thinking of a transfer to the gallery of 4 As where there is room. But this is not the chosen solution. This appears in a decision of the Paris Commercial Court of December 7, 2021.

The sports brand bought for 1 €

After eight months of negotiations, he validated the takeover of the Go Sport brand from the Rallye group, for a symbolic €1, by Hermione People & Brands, retail division of the Financière Immobilière Bordelaise (FIB) group, as part of a process managed by the investment bank Wingate. The 215 points of sale in France and abroad will diversify FIB’s activity. However, this group appeared four years ago with the takeover of 22 stores at Galeries Lafayette, including the Belfort outlet. Then, the group joined the Grande Récré in October 2018. Two years later, he took over Camaïeu at the helm of the Lille Commercial Court. In October 2021, Hermione People & Brands becomes the owner of the Gap brand in France as well as its 21 stores after the choice of the American group to restructure its European activities. In a press release, Hermione People & Brands expressed its intention to develop Go Sport, which was created in 1978. The brand was bought in 1990 by Rallye, the heavily indebted parent company of the Casino retail brand.

Empty second floor

Its elements confirm that Go Sport will settle, during the summer, in the premises of the store in the Faubourg de France. This arrival, which the management does not confirm, is all the more plausible since the Belfort brand has been undergoing work for a few weeks. The ground floor has been redesigned and embellished to become more welcoming. And the second floor is being restructured. While the shelves of the Grand Récré are maintained, the rest of the floor has been emptied. As if we wanted to prepare it to welcome a new activity.

In the meantime, the building which has housed Go Sport since 2003 will soon be available. It is unknown for the moment that it will be its destination. As for Camaïeu, which was expected to move to Galeries Lafayette, it will remain in its current location in the Faubourg de France.
