The start and end dates of sales, whether summer or winter, are in fact fixed in Belgian law. However, for several days, many merchants have already been displaying “pre-sale” reductions, often under the name “coupled sales”, “joint offers”, or even “private sales”.
According to figures from the Neutral Union for Independents (SNI), more than four in five retailers (85%) will start the winter sales with discounts of 30%, due to large stocks.
Next summer, sales will start on July 1st and end on the 31st.
Bad news: there won’t be any crazy discounts for the sales!
