Belgium’s Weekend Heatwave Continues: High Temperatures and Rainy Weather Expected

2023-09-08 20:24:18

The heatwave that has hit Belgium since Monday will continue throughout the weekend. On Saturday, temperatures will be between 26 degrees in Hautes-Fagnes and 30 to 32 degrees in the plains. The mercury should still be near the peaks on Sunday before a general drop in temperatures and the return of rainy weather, more typical of the Flat Country.

The thermometer exceeded, for the 5th consecutive day, the 25°C mark on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Uccle, a condition for this meteorological episode to be considered a heat wave.

Until Monday, the yellow code for heat applies throughout the country, with the exception of the coastal region and the province of Luxembourg.

On Tuesday, the weather will be variable with sunny spells, cloudy areas and locally intense and stormy showers. It will be noticeably cooler with maximums of 19 to 23 degrees. The wind will be weak to moderate from the west.
