The head of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that members of self-defense units in the region would receive weapons. Governor’s words on July 5 leads telegram channel of the regional government.
Gladkov stated this during a live broadcast on the social network. He also called the deadline – in a week. Belgorod governor’s statement quotes Wednesday Kommersant.
“The weapons issue has been partially resolved. Such a possibility, it turned out, exists. Part of self-defense, those battalions that are located along the border, will be armed within the framework of the current legislation, ”Gladkov said (quoted by Kommersant).
He added that in the Belgorod region, the formation of a second territorial defense unit of 3,000 people is underway.
Also on Wednesday, Vyacheslav Gladkov said that in the Belgorod region, the windows of schools and kindergartens are planned to be covered with armored film in case of shelling.
Recall that in recent weeks the territory of the Belgorod region has been shelled by Ukraine almost daily. And on May 22, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in the region due to an attack by a Ukrainian DRG.
