Ben Simmons in trouble, already … the end of his adventure at the Nets?

Ben Simmons is in big trouble at Brooklyn. The Nets are in the midst of a revolution and the cataclysm of the trade deadline could lead them to revise their plans. Simmons is playing less and less and even if the Nets want to put him back in, he could pack his bags this summer.

The Nets and Ben Simmons could end their joint experience sooner than expected. Arrived two years ago in exchange for James Harden, the Australian had to bring his versatility and in particular his defense alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, nothing happened. Because Ben Simmons has been in great difficulty since his arrival in Brooklyn. If he spent a very large part of his first season on the sidelines, the point guard really does not satisfy for his first full year. Declining stats, difficulties in attack, surely something that does not take with his franchise, Simmons is unrecognizable and has seen his playing time drop.

KD and Kyrie left with a bang, the Nets were taken aback and therefore took a new direction… and they could now do without the Australian. Jake Fischer from Yahoo Sports also announces that Bedford-Stuyvesant should gauge the market around number 10.

“The Nets are expected to assess the market that may materialize for Simmons following the end of his disappointing campaign. The three-time All-Star is still a far cry from the form he displayed during his best days in Philadelphia.

Benny is clearly struggling this season, on all counts. The triple All-Star runs at 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists at 56% shooting, not famous, not famous compared to what is expected of him. And the latest loss to the Nets against the Knicks does not help the (weak) record of Simmons (3 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds in 13 minutes). But despite this, Jacque Vaughn announces that he is still counting on his leader and underlines the challenge that appears to put him back on the right track.

“There is work to be done. Because just look at what the lineups might look like. If you put another tall player next to Ben, you need to determine the spacing around him. Then if you put another playmaker next to him, then you have to know what Ben looks like without the ball (…) So the challenges are ahead of us. We will look at them and we will pick them up. We have the players to do it.

The franchise on the other side of the bridge wants to get its player back on track, to put him back in the deep end of the NBA and above all to find him a way out and have the best possible counterpart. Under contract with the Nets until 2025, Simmons must still collect $ 78.2 million.
