Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar is NDA’s vice presidential candidate

New Delhi: Jagdeep Dhankar has been announced as the vice presidential candidate of NDA. BJP The decision was taken at the Parliamentary Board meeting held at the National Headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President J.P. The meeting was chaired by Nadda, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and others.

Jagdeep Dhankar has been the Governor of West Bengal since 30 July 2019. Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Captain Amarinder Singh, Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan, Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Former Union Minister S.S. Ahluwalia and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were the candidates from the first stage.

Meanwhile, the Congress will call a meeting of the opposition parties on Sunday to decide the vice-presidential candidate of the opposition. Congress sources said this would be after the party leaders’ meetings called by the government, the Speaker and the Vice President on Sunday ahead of the annual session of Parliament. After the announcement of the presidential candidate, when there is a division in the opposition parties, an effort is being made to choose the vice-presidential candidate carefully. As part of this, Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge was assigned to meet the opposition leaders.

The Vice President election will be held on the 6th of next month. Venkaiah Naidu’s term ends on August 10.
