Pilot flew plane from Florida to Missouri drunk and had to make an emergency landing; he faces multiple criminal charges

A pilot faces multiple criminal charges after flying a plane from Florida to Missouri drunk.

The pilot, identified as John T. Seesing, was arrested Friday morning after landing in Kansas City.

Allegedly, the aircraft began to run out of fuel at about 2:45 a.m.

Seesing, 35, of Prairie Valley, communicated by radio to alert the situation.

Driver suffered minor injuries when hitting a security fence in the middle of the landing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the pilot made an emergency landing on Interstate 70 near Grain Valley.

Seesing was the only person on the plane.

The pilot faces charges of DWI or driving while intoxicatedreckless and careless operation involving a crash, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm, among others.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
