Bernese Jura: What happened to Boston the dog? 5000 francs should clear up his death

The Bernese Mountain Dog Boston escaped during a walk in the woods of Le Fuet in the Bernese Jura on Sunday evening, July 10th. The next day the animal was found dead by a walker at the edge of the forest between Le Fuet and Sornetan (BE). The picture that the owner describes is brutal: the teeth in his lower jaw were broken off. His owner also found a blood-smeared wooden stick with dog hair still stuck to it not far from the carcass. The family is infinitely sad – but also worried. “Boston’s death was certainly helped,” says the owner to 20 minutes. They assume an act of violence. “I assume a car hit him first. But Boston was probably not quite dead yet. He was beaten to death with a club,” suspects Boston’s owner, Aude Jolidon. She also believes the dog was left in the woods to “cover up the crime”.

According to the cantonal police in Bern, an investigation has been launched. However, an autopsy of the animal was out of the question because the decomposition had already progressed too far. But Jolidon thinks the police are doing too little. Opposite the newspaper “Jura newspaper” she criticizes the lack of empathy of the police and the canton veterinarian.

That’s why she is now investigating on her own. “I’ve already checked out all the garages in the region. This is in the hope that the garage workers have noticed something suspicious, »says the desperate woman. She wants to know what happened to her dog. “If someone had pulled into Boston and then brought them to us, I could have dealt with the loss. But it’s difficult to deal with his passing like this.”

In order to bring light into the darkness, the family has now made a Facebook call. The family is offering CHF 5,000 for relevant information about the cause of death of their beloved pet.
