In this context, the Associated Press reported that the resolution passed by Congress, with bipartisan support, deepens the US commitment to Kyiv, at a time of uncertainty regarding the future of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The agency added that the new funding aims to support Ukraine until next September, and will allocate $20 billion in military aid to the Ukrainian army, ensuring a steady flow of advanced weapons that have been used to impede Russia’s progress.
The aid will also go to $8 billion to support the general Ukrainian economy, $5 billion to address global food shortages that may result from the collapse of Ukrainian agriculture, and more than $1 billion to help refugees.
