Big profile is on the way to Aalborg – now his club has been notified

In recent weeks, Juri Knorr has been heavily linked with a move to Aalborg Handball, and now it is certain that the German national team player is planning to leave his current employer.

Rhein-Neckar-Löwen thus confirms that Juri Knorr has made use of a clause that allows him to get out of his contract in the summer of 2025. The agreement originally ran until 2026.

– We have always had an open and honest dialogue with Juri, where we have treated each other with respect, both when we entered into the contract and now. A few weeks ago, Juri informed us that he wanted to change clubs in the summer of 2025 and make use of an exit clause in his contract.

– Rhein-Neckar-Löwen will not comment on information that goes beyond this fact, says Rhein-Neckar-Löwen’s CEO, Jennifer Kettemann.

With that, the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen boss refers to the stories that Aalborg Handball wants to buy Juri Knorr on a free already this summer, as the German has been appointed as a replacement for Mikkel Hansen, who is ending his career after the season.

At the weekend, German national coach Alfred Gislason also fueled the rumors in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.

– He informed me a few days ago. Of course, it is a great shame for Rhein-Neckar Löwen, who have built a lot around him in recent years.

– He is going to a club that plays in the Champions League. He definitely needs a little less pressure on his shoulders. We always say that it will be nice if more young German players go abroad, and he will certainly gain very valuable experience abroad, said Alfred Gislason, who did not mention Aalborg Handball in the interview.
