Bildstein/Hussl reach at WM Medal Race

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

The Austrian 49er duo Benjamin Bildstein and David Hussl prematurely reached the Medal Race of the best ten boats at the Sailing World Championships off Halifax in seventh place.

The duo finished tenth, twelve and 13th on Sunday. There is one more race on Monday before the final race is scheduled. Keanu Prettner/Jakob Flachberger are 32nd, in the Nacra 17 Laura Farese/Matthäus Zöchling are 17th and Lukas Haberl/Tanja Frank are 24th.

“It feels like we’re a bit stuck in the middle. We leave a lot behind at the start, you can’t afford that in the gold fleet. Ultimately, these are the missing meters to ride at the front. But the boat speed and technology are on point,” said crewman Hussl.
