“It is the story of my more than 23 years since I left the White House, told largely through the stories of other people who changed my life while I was trying to help change theirs (…) and the mistakes I made along the way,” Clinton said in a statement.

Among the topics he reflects on in the book are historical events such as the 2016 elections in the United States – in which his wife, Hillary Clinton, lost against Donald Trump -, the Iraq war or Covid-19, and figures politicians like the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“A life in public service can be deeply rewarding if you accept that in the constant ebb and flow of history there are no permanent victories or defeats, and never forget that each life is a story that, regardless of time and circumstances , deserves to be seen and heard,” said the politician.

The publisher Penguin Random House will publish the book in hardcover – for $38 – in electronic and audio formats, while the Vintage imprint (also from Penguin) will release it in paperback next year, according to Knopf.

The book comes three years after FX launched its series “Impeachment,” which told the story of Monica Lewinsky, the White House aide who had an affair with Clinton that led to his impeachment.
