At the dawn of Black Friday, Maryse Côté-Hamel, consumer and marketing specialist, reveals the items that offer the best discounts.
In Quebec, there are several discount periods during the year, which means that Black Friday is not necessarily the time of year that offers the best deals.
We can, however, expect discounts similar to those of Boxing Day.
Given the current period, consumers will be “more sensitive to price, therefore probably more receptive to discounts,” predicts Maryse Côté-Hamel, consumer and marketing specialist at Laval University.
Moreover, “this year, retailers have increased their discount period to try to stand out from the competition and reach as many consumers as possible,” adds the specialist.
