Bloop, bloop and bloop: NASA published the sound of a meteorite crashing into Mars

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

On the recording, as noted by the space agency, you can distinguish three “bloops” – very low sounds, reminiscent of a stone hitting water.

They accompany each stage of the “death” of a celestial body. In particular, the entry into the atmosphere of Mars, the subsequent break into several parts and their collision with the surface of the Red Planet.

The moment was recorded by the Nasa InSight lander on September 5, 2021.

On Earth, this can be found in deserts, when, following sunset, part of the heat is retained by the atmosphere and sound waves of different frequencies pass through it at different speeds.

As a result, the low sound is heard before the high sound. Near the place of impact, it will look more like cotton, and for those far from the place where the celestial body fell, bass sounds, the notorious “gurgle”, will first reach.
