For the second year in Touzac, the Ô Touzac association organized the Blue Ribbon march. Sunday March 17, the rather mild weather accompanied the 80 walkers hiking for the benefit of the Lot Cancer League. The month of March is dedicated to raising awareness of colorectal cancer screening, symbolized by the blue ribbon. After the welcome by the president of Ô Touzac, Danielle Delory, prevention coordinator for the Lot department, presented the League’s actions in terms of screening for colorectal cancer and vaccination against cervical cancer. After a good coffee, the walkers set off on four different routes of 3, 4, 5 and 8.5 km. They benefited from refreshments en route and a snack on arrival. Around thirty people stayed to share a meal in the village hall. Registrations for the march and donations during this event amount to €475 which will be donated to the Lot Cancer League. Screening kits are available in pharmacies free of charge. This very simple to perform and non-invasive screening saves lives every year. Since fear does not prevent danger, get tested en masse.
