Bodybuilding, yoga: you want to get into the sport, Netflix now offers training videos

Who says new year, says good resolutions. For those who have decided to get back into sports in 2023, and for those who already exercise regularly, there is Netflix.

The streaming platform has been offering its subscribers for a few days new sports programs to follow from its living room.

Pour play sports, the older generations swayed in front of their television set connected to Antenne 2, the ancestor of France 2, with the program “Gym Tonic” by Véronique and Davina. Now, Netflix subscribers can chat while watching their streaming platform. The American giant has launched a series of content in collaboration with Nike Training Club, the brand’s fitness application.

30 hours of training

Since December 30, 2022, 46 sports training videos are available on the streaming platform in ten languages. In all, 90 videos will offer fitness, strengthening, bodybuilding, more or less intense, as well as vinyasa yogatotaling 30 hours of training, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Nike had decided to make its Nike Training Club application free in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic. An initially temporary decision which was finally confirmed. A subscription then cost $14.99 per month and $199.99 per year. Still available for free download, the fitness app offers both yoga and strength training classes, as well as nutrition and wellness advice.

Content offering fitness exercises has grown since the pandemic. If sports influencers have found their community on social networks, stars like Chris Hemsworth have also bet on this new market which now seems to be seducing streaming platforms.

Apple also offers an exercise video subscription with Apple Fitness+, an offer that includes eleven types of exercises, including interval training (HIIT), strength training, yoga, dance, planking, cycling, Pilates, treadmill and treadmill, rowing machine and mindful recovery. “The service also includes video and audio meditation sessions,” says Apple.
