At the end of the 10th day of Ligue 2, Laval (13th) received Bordeaux (4th). A victory and the Girondins could regain the leading position in Amiens. It was also with a victory for David Guion’s players that the game between the two teams ended (2-1). Dominant at the start of the match, the Girondins quickly took the advantage through their striker, Josh Maja (5th, 1-0) following a corner kicked by Danylo Ignatenko. Laval then tried to come back but did not find the solution before the break to worry the Bordelais. On returning from the locker room, Jimmy Roye’s teammates held the ball and Julien Maggiotti ended up converting the domination, sterile until then, of his team. After a poor clearance from the Bordeaux defense, the Frenchman could win his duel against Gaëtan Poussin (56th, 1-1).
But it was without counting on the resources of the Girondins who reversed the trend in stride. Alberth Elis then hit very hard from the right to crucify Alexis Sauvage after a good tumble from Zurab Davitashvili (69th, 2-1). A little over ten minutes later, Geoffray Durbant crossed his head and thought to score to equalize but he was finally flagged offside perhaps even unfairly (81st). Another questionable decision should make people talk in the next few hours, Geoffray Durbant, still him, fell in the opposing area after being hooked at arm level by Clément Michelin but the referee, Mr. Perreau-Niel, considered that the striker had simulated and then gave him a yellow card for his challenge (90th + 3). The end of the meeting was therefore stormy between the two teams and other yellow cards were distributed to Bryan Goncalves and Vital Nsimba. With this victory, Bordeaux regains the leading position in Amiens while Laval remains stuck in 13th place.
